You will receive a password and account designation upon completing the registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the passwords and accounts and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your passwords or accounts. You agree to (a) immediately notify WOMCY of any unauthorized use of your passwords or accounts or any other breach of security, and (b) ensure that you exit from your account at the end of each session. WOMCY cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this Section.

In keeping with the goals and objectives of WOMCY Corp, we are committed to the highest degree of respect for the privacy of our members, visitors to our websites, and attendees of our events. In this Privacy Statement, we use “we,” “us” or “our” to refer to WOMCY and “you” or “your” to refer to you, the user, member, or visitor to our website. For certain purposes of this Privacy Statement, we distinguish between individuals who choose to register and join WOMCY as a member (“Members”) and users of our website (the “Site”, including womcy.org) who simply visit the Site (“Visitors”) and do not choose to register as Members. Unless indicated otherwise, all provisions of this Privacy Statement apply to Visitors and Members. This Privacy Statement applies to our Site.
When we do not rely on your consent to this Privacy Statement for use of “Your Data” (as defined below), we will tell you so. By accessing and using the Site as a Visitor, you expressly and knowingly consent to the information collection and use practices as described in this Privacy Statement.
Our commitment to your privacy is based on the following principles which we apply to our use of both your personally identifiable data (“Personal Data”) and to certain anonymous information we collect when you visit our Site (“Technical Information”, and together with Personal Data, “Your Data”):

How Do We Collect Information?
We collect Your Data in the following basic ways:
- You give it to us when you register as a Member or if a Member or a Visitor registers for an event including but not limited to webinars, signing up for a newsletter, or making a comment on a blog or social media;
- You give it to us in email inquiries or in your public comments;
- We automatically collect Technical Information when you visit our Sites; and
- We obtain legally available information from outside sources, including commercially available geographic and demographic information along with other publicly available information, such as public posts to social networking sites.
What Information Do We Collect?
Personal information means any information that may be used to identify an individual, including an individual’s first and last name, password, home or other physical address, email address, phone number, or other contact information.
You may provide personal information to WOMCY in connection with making a donation to WOMCY. We call personal information directly associated with donations “Donor Information.” Except with your explicit permission, we will not sell, share or trade Donor Information with any third party, nor send mailings using Donor information on behalf of other organizations. To the extent any Donor Information is processed through a third-party service provider, Donor Information will only be used for purposes necessary to process that activity.
Depending on how you initiate contact with WOMCY, we may ask you for any of the following information:

- Country of residence
- Date of birth
- Company affiliation
- Career level
- Information typically included on a resume
- Gender
- Mailing address
- Phone number
- Age
- Organization/Company
- Professional Title
- Professional Affiliation

Generally, the information you provide when interacting with WOMCY is optional, but some information may be required in order for a particular process, transaction, or other interaction to properly execute. WOMCY may be unable to provide you with certain products or services should you elect not to share information that we require to be collected for a particular purpose. WOMCY also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, the information contained in or conveyed by cookies and other similar technology (as described below), and the page you request through automated metrics platform such as Google Analytics. This information is automatically logged through these services and will not be connected to your personal information by WOMCY for any reason.
WOMCY may also collect certain personal information or other information that you voluntarily disclosed, including without limitation in connection with registering for events or mailing lists, submission of job applications, responses to survey questions, providing comments, suggestions, and other information that you voluntarily submit. If you choose to provide such information, you are giving WOMCY the permission to use and store it consistent with this policy. Therefore, please understand that when you sign in with WOMCY, you are not anonymous to us.
We may also obtain information, including personal information, from third parties and other sources. If we combine or associate information from other sources with personal information that we collect, we will treat the combined information as personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
How Is Such Information Used?
We may use the personal information we collect in order to establish and enhance our relationship with you. WOMCY may use personal information to share with you information that we feel may be of interest to you, such as invitations to attend WOMCY events or the events of other carefully chosen organizations, to review and enhance our products and service offerings, to contact you about your membership, to provide local networking and educational opportunities, or otherwise to further our charitable purpose and to comply with applicable law. If you make charitable donations to WOMCY or otherwise engage in off-line activities with WOMCY, this Donor Information may be merged in our database with your online personal information. The information WOMCY collects and how the information is used will specifically depend on which of WOMCY products or services you use. WOMCY will only require you to provide us with information if it is needed for the legitimate interest of providing you with a product or service or the execution of a transaction. Any time you voluntarily submit information in addition to that described above, you are providing the information on a voluntary basis whereby you consent to our use of the information as described at the time requested. You can contact us at any time to adjust your privacy preferences or ask questions about how the information might be used.
Your personal information is only retained by WOMCY for as long as needed to facilitate the product or service, facilitate communication, or otherwise execute the purpose for which the information was obtained in the first place. This means that although much of the information can be deleted automatically (e.g. when you elect to unsubscribe from a newsletter), some will require manual review before doing so (e.g. you have purchased a ticket for an event and we need some way to verify who you are in order to be admitted to the event).
Tasks related to event organization and other functions of WOMCY are performed both by employees, agents, and contractors of WOMCY and by volunteers (“WOMCY Volunteers”) who are not employees. By making use of the Site, you consent to allow WOMCY employees, agents, contractors, and WOMCY Volunteers to access any personal information you submit to the Site(s) to provide WOMCY with a specific service and not for any other purpose.
Additionally, WOMCY generally uses the information to operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all of the features and services found on the Site. Under certain circumstances (for example, if you win a contest) we may post your personal information on the Site. However, we will notify you of this possibility when collecting personal information or we will obtain your consent to post this information. We may share your personal information with certain other websites that we link to (and that you click upon) in order to achieve the purpose of the connection with the Site. WOMCY may also use the information that we collect to understand and analyze the usage trends and preferences of our users, to improve the way the Site works and looks, and to create new features and functionality. The information may be stored and maintained for as long as reasonably necessary to effectuate the service requested and for a reasonable time thereafter.
How Do We Use Your Data Collected at Our Site?
We do not sell or rent any Personal Data supplied by you. We occasionally work with other organizations, consultants, and volunteers to provide limited services on our behalf, such as website hosting, public relations, mailing, answering customer questions about products and services, and sending information including but not limited to our research, white papers, job opportunities, and events. We will only provide those companies the Personal Data they need to perform the service for which they are retained and they agree to treat the information confidentially and to only use it for the purposes of providing services under our agreement with them.
We may use Your Data to provide you with more effective customer service and to improve the Site and any related products or services we may provide or make available.
We may use your Personal Data to provide you with important information about your WOMCY membership.
We may use Technical Information to periodically analyze Site logs to assess aggregate usage trends in order to better serve the needs of Visitors and Members and maximize the user viewing experience. Under some circumstances, this information may be used for purposes of systems administration, fraud prevention, or server troubleshooting and security. This information may also be used to help improve the Site, analyze trends, and administer the Site.

Non-identifiable Aggregate Data
Non-identifiable data is information that subsequently is used in aggregate form or in a manner that does not readily identify an individual. We may collect non-identifiable data whether or not you are a registered member of WOMCY. We may use non-identifiable data for purposes of research or analysis. We may conduct research on our member’s demographics, internet usage, and interests, and behavior based on personal data we gather. Although non-identifiable data may be based in part on personal information, it does not identify you personally.
WOMCY may share this type of non-identifiable data with a variety of third parties, including its alliances, sponsors, and other current and prospective business partners. WOMCY may use non-identifiable data collected for website administration, advertising, and promotional purposes, for understanding the usage, viewing, and demographic patterns for certain programs, content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality on the Site, and we may share such information with various affiliated and unaffiliated entities for such purposes. Your non-personally identifiable information and clickstream data about your activities may be shared with these companies so this customization can be accomplished. Our agreement with these companies prohibits them from sharing your information with any third party or using it for any other purpose. Non-identifiable click stream and demographic information may also be shared with our business partners.
Can I Choose not to Receive Commercial Email Communications?
We realize that unwanted and non-relevant email notices and communications can be unwelcome. Every promotional, event, or related communication we send to you via email contains instructions and an easily discoverable link that will allow you to unsubscribe and stop all subsequent commercial or marketing messages and/or direct you to a preference center to select topics of interest to you. Unless you consent (opt-in) to the receipt of commercial or marketing emails, we will not use your email address for such purposes. You can always change your email preferences by visiting our membership portal and clicking through to the preferences page.
By joining WOMCY, Members may opt-in to the inclusion of their email contact information in our Member email communication and Member newsletter lists. Members can manage their email preferences including opting in and out of working groups, committees, and special interest group communications through the WOMCY membership portal.
Members may receive periodic email or postal mailings from us with information about us, upcoming events, or articles related to relevant topics in cybersecurity including but not limited to news, public policy, and emerging best practices and standards. We offer you the opportunity to select which, if any, of these communications you would like to receive.
All of our practices are designed and intended at a minimum to satisfy state, national, provincial, and federal legal requirements limiting email communications. In addition to these laws and regulations governing email marketing, there are other laws and regulations governing telemarketing and direct mail. As a general rule, we do not engage in those types of targeted marketing activities including but not limited to device fingerprinting, profiling, and or cross-device tracking.
Other Legal Bases for Using Your Data
In the event we do not rely on your consent to this Privacy Statement as the basis for our permitted use of Your Data, we will tell you so. For example, we may tell you that we are relying on our obligation to meet our contractual obligations to you. We may also rely on a “legitimate interest assessment” to process Your Data. We will separately notify or disclose to you when we rely on an alternative legal basis for the use or processing of Your Data.
Credit Card Information
Credit card information is not collected or stored on our servers. When you conduct transactions through a Site, payment and payment card information for transactions with us is entered directly into a third-party processor’s systems and is not transmitted through or stored by us. We take reasonable steps to ensure that Your Data is complete and relevant to its intended use. While WOMCY uses certain measures intended to improve security, it is possible that the information you provide us could be intercepted or otherwise accessed by unauthorized parties. In addition, any information sent to us by email may not be secure during transit, due to the nature of email. WOMCY does not provide any guarantees that information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. If WOMCY learns of a security breach, we will immediately notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps and inform you of what we are doing to help remedy the situation.

International Transfers
The Site is hosted in the United States. If you choose to use the Site from the European Union or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, then please note that you are transferring your personal information outside of those regions to the United States and by providing your personal information on the Site you consent to that transfer. WOMCY will comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy regardless of where the information originates.
If you visit our Site from a country other than the United States, your communications will likely result in the transfer of Your Data across national borders. If you provide Your Data when visiting our Site from outside of the United States, you acknowledge and agree that this data may be transferred from your then-current location to our servers and to those of our affiliates, agents, and service providers located in the United States and in other countries. Accessing and Updating Personal Data
Users may request access to their Personal Data collected and stored by us (if any) to verify if it is complete and accurate or to request that it be deleted. Social Media, Blogs & Discussion Groups
Please note that this Privacy Statement does not apply to any posting by you in any of our discussion groups, blogs, discussion threads, chat areas, or similar interactive areas of our Site. Your participation in those discussion areas and anything you post in those areas constitutes your public disclosure and may be attributed to you and displayed, republished, and otherwise disseminated by us in accordance with the terms of use agreement you agree to abide by in order to participate in those areas.
Children / Minors
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, the Site is not intended for or directed to persons under the age of 13, and WOMCY does not knowingly collect or maintain personal information on the Site from persons under 13 years of age. Any person who provides their information to WOMCY through any part of the Site represents to WOMCY that they are 13 years of age or older. If WOMCY learns that personal information of persons less than 13 years of age has been collected on womcy.org without verifiable parental consent, then WOMCY will take the appropriate steps to delete this information. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child under the age of 13 has provided personal information to WOMCY, then you may alert WOMCY at [email protected] and request that WOMCY delete that child’s personal information from its systems.
California Web Site Data Collection
We do not knowingly allow other parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites when you use the Site. We provide information about the opt-out or opt-in choices available to users.
Member Personal Data, Communication & Database
“Members” are defined as individuals, companies, organizations, and/or institutions that choose to register with and have an agreed membership relationship with us. All of Your Data as a Member is covered by this Privacy Statement.
As a Member, you may review or update your Personal Data by logging into the membership portal and reviewing or changing your Personal Data directly.
You may also inform us by email or postal mail directed to the contact information provided on our Site or, Members may also adjust these settings or change or correct their Personal Data by email to membership at womcy.org.
In order for you to fully enjoy the benefits of membership in WOMCY, we need to be able to use Your Data for communication, record-keeping, and the other purposes described in this Privacy Statement. If you choose not to permit us to use Your Data as described in this Privacy Statement, you will not be able to continue as a Member. Of course, you will still be able to visit our Site as a Visitor and to take advantage of all of the opportunities provided to Visitors to the Site.
